Some Criteria for Baby Pushchairs

Is there an image cuter than a parent pushing a child in a baby pushchair? Yes, this is a happy image that harkens to the most basic human instincts: the love and nurturing of a child. Sometimes, this imagery is made even more unique thanks to baby pushchairs that possess a unique and special look. But, of course, looks and style are not the only things one should look for in a baby pushchair. There are a number of other attributes worth exploring prior to making a baby pushchair. Here is a brief look at a number of these attributes.

The durability of the chair is important. This means the chair should not start to wear down after repeated use. The wheels should not stick nor should they start to become loose after only a few weeks after purchase. This is because if the chair starts to show wear and tear within a few weeks after purchase, the baby pushchair will lose some of its ability to maintain safety. This brings us to our next point….

Baby pushchairs need to maintain the safety of the child. That means the chair needs to be designed so that it is not prone to tipping over or presenting any other risks to the child. Also, the fasteners that hold the child in the chair need to be reliable. If the child was to come lose and fall out of the chair, then serious harm could come to the child. Conversely, the fasteners need to come loose on demand when the need to remove the child from the pushchair is required.

Comfort is also a very important aspect as well. For the baby to enjoy the pushchair experience, the baby needs to remain comfortable. Yes, the child need to be secure but never to the point the baby feels uncomfortable. Thankfully, high quality baby pushchairs take this into consideration during the design process. So, the ability to find a comfortable baby pushchair that maintains levels of safety should prove problematic.

Of course, while safety and durability always remain important concerns, it is also critical to never dismiss the value of looks. Yes, you do want your baby pushchairs to embody a certain sense of flair and style. That is why so many baby pushchairs are produced in a multitude of bright colors. For those that love spending time in local parks, there are lush green baby pushchairs that can match the green backdrop. For those that love strolling around the city, upbeat blue pushchairs can prove quite popular. And, yes, they all present a visual look that can make others envious of the design.

Does this sound like a lot of criteria to consider prior to purchasing a baby pushchair? Actually, it isn’t because every aspect listed herein is what most people expect from a baby pushchair in the first place. Just make sure to double check the criteria prior to making a purchase. This will ensure you are ultimately happy with your purchase. And that is, after all, what both you and the baby will want.

Splashing the cash:mother spends £17,000 on designer clothes… for her BABY

He is not even a year old but Theo has the spending habits to rival a Hollywood superstar.

In the past year his mother Sophie Vickers has splashed £17,000 on designer clothes and toys for her baby. The lavish lifestyle is a shocking example of Britain’s obsession with aping celebrity lifestyles.

The little boy, her only child, already rivals Imelda Marcos with 80 pairs of shoes – costing more than £4,000

His wardrobe is full of designer outfits worth £9,000 and he has hundreds of toys and three pushchairs.

He already has 40 pairs of trousers, 40 pairs of shorts, three leather jackets and 40 T-shirts – all from designer brands.

Miss Vickers admitted: ‘Theo is spoilt. Just one pair of my favourite shoes for him, baby Doc Martins, can cost £120, but I can afford it so why not?

‘Buying things for Theo gives me pleasure.’

The 22-year-old insisted that despite enjoying a spendaholic lifestyle she would still be able to teach Theo the difference between right and wrong.

She added: ‘It doesn’t mean he won’t know I have to work to give him a good life.’

It is not clear how Miss Vickers, who is a part-time administrative assistant from Tyne and Wear, and her carpet fitter partner Chris, 25, can afford such a lavish approach to parenthood.

She insists she does not spend on credit cards, but is reluctant to discuss the family’s income.

She explained that after forking out for rent and bills for their three bed maisonette almost all their income is spent on their only child – even claiming that Theo, who can’t talk, agrees with herHe would hate to be dressed in something scruffy and he admires himself in the mirror in his new clothes and shoes,’ she claims bizarrely.

However, Theo simply cannot fit in to many of the items any more because like any baby he is growing fast.

Psychologist Dr Funke Baffour said she was stunned at Miss Vickers’ behaviour.

She added: ‘The baby has become a trophy. It’s about how Sophie’s feeling, not the baby who doesn’t know or care if his shoes are designer.

‘Spoiling a child means they don’t learn what life’s really about. She’s setting him up for failure, even at this early stage.’

Miss Vickers is planning to throw Theo a huge first birthday party with fifty guests and plans to spend hundreds on presents for him including a quad bike and trampoline.

She said: ‘I’m always going to want to give Theo everything. Chris would like another child, but I’m not sure. If I had more kids I wouldn’t be able to lavish so much on Theo.’

‘It doesn’t mean I won’t teach him the difference between right and wrong, or that he won’t know I have to work to give him a good life.

Hi, Wife is 24 weeks pregnant , help us where we can buy prams, cots, clothes for baby boy?

Hi, We are new to UK we are residing in Gateshead ,New Castle. My wife is 24 weeks pregnant and we are looking out for prams, baby cots, clothes for the newborn. This is our first baby have no idea where we could get all this, we did look into Mothercare looks kind off expensive. We recently moved so we know no one here so we are not havin baby shower. So please help us where we can get all this baby stuff at an affordable pricing and yet not compromising on the quality. Thanks once again.
My wife due date is in early June
No Second hand please we want to buy new stuff

Try Argos, Asda and Ikea for cheaper cots and prams. Asda and Tescos also sell clothing and most of their items are really cheap.

is there a reason why so many parents use buggies and pushchairs and not baby carriers?

after all it is almost a well known fact that carrying babies makes them more healthy and i dare say intellignet and i am sure the baby would rather be carried next to its parents chest to me bueegies are a pain especeilly on public transport ie getting them on and off even worse if its not easy access

In our case our son just got too big. My husband would take him in the Snugli or Baby Bjorn carriers we had, whenever we went out, but eventually, by around 4 mths and 23lbs, he was just too tall and wide! lol! We knew it was time to use the stroller exclusively when we were in a department store parking lot literally stuffing(not in a painful way of course!) him in it and laughing our pants off! We plan on getting a back-style carrier in a couple months for the summer.

where can I find good information about baby strollers & prams?

If you’re looking for information about strollers & prams, there are some websites with good info. strollersandprams has good info, but it depends what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for reviews, the above is good, even babypramsonline. if you’re looking for articles & information about strollers & prams in general (i believe that this is what you are asking) then baby prams online is a good resource. Their articles should help you to understand & get answers to your questions.

Hope this helps!

I need a toddler nursery place ? How to know which one is best?

In this series of articles we look at each age of a child to determine which childcare setting is the best for both baby, toddler and preschooler and for you

Your toddlers safety, happiness, care and well being are the most important factors to concider when choosing the right childcare setting for your toddler .if a family member or childminder is not an option and you wish to choose a nursery here are some facts to help you make the right decision.

2. staff that frequently leave and new ones start  is not a good sign. toddlers  need continuity of care and the same keyworker that can look after them.

3. cleanliness what is the nursery changing area like? look at the way staff change nappies and help with potty training ?is it safe, hygenic,is it clean? do they wash their hands don’t go in the morning go a few times at different times to see how they cope throughout the day.

4.Accidents! mild bumps happen a lot with toddlers because they are just finding their feet ,falling with toddling around, taking first steps etc for confidentiality reasons they may not let you but have a look at the accident book if a lot of accidents occur it may suggest they are not supervising the children properly.but serious ones are a cause for concern.

5. staff interecting with each other is there bickering amongst themselves. If the staff are happy then its a good sign that the children will be too.

6. safety! is the room safe! is it cluttered, untidy for adults to fall on toys, even though toys can be around does it look dangerous.broken toys ?dirty toys ?Is there carrier bags left hanging around which can be a hazzard totoddler children?

7. Do the staff take the toddler room out and about or for walks in the prams,or spend time in the garden? toddlers too need plenty of fresh air?

8. Is there lots to do for the children or are they bored?

any good internet sites to buy baby furniture and prams?

I live in Spain but everything is so expensive here I will just order everything from England and get it shipped over.

But I haven´t lived in the UK for years so I don´t know the best english online baby shops! Any suggestions?

Also, IKEA baby furniture! Is it as flimsy as it looks?

Thank you. I know this is a really random question!

babiesrus is so reasonable and much better quality than ikea or argos it’s more the standard of john lewis or mamas and papas.
i got the "highgate" changing table and cot bed for £149 for the two of them as they are being discontinued and had clearance stock. i am so chuffed with our purchase. see if they will ship to you…

In London, is there any shop/store/showroom for baby prams/pushchairs (large collection so we can choose)?

I am looking for stores where they may have 100’s of varieties of pushchairs/prams on display so customer could look and choose. i have peugeot 206 and so far i have lost alot of money to fit a tandem pushchair in it. i keep buying and returning online. this time i decided to find a store or showroom so i could choose.
i have tried all these places they have the minimum range possible. i am looking for companies like kiddicare etc with their own stores specially for babies.

Try John Lewis, Debenhams, Peter Jones, House of Fraser, Mamas and Papas. Theres also a Baby Show on 16-18 October 2009 in Earls Court which is Open daily 09.30 – 17.30. Its like a fair where companies which sell baby stuff all come together and parents go and buy stuff …They have alot of baby products and alot of Buggies and all the different brands sometimes theyre even at discounted prices so its definately worth going because i think thats where you’ll see the widest range of buggies/prams/pushchairs you can get!
